At least it's not "Vista 2". Vista is such a cluttered mess of shit. My list of complaints range from not being able to use Visual Studio for C/C++ (can't make new projects, fuck), not being able to remove things from my own machine because I'm "not the administrator" (bullshit), and so on.

So fuck it, I work in linux primarily now, and use Windows for gaeman. Not much else worth using Windows for.

every laptop i've tried using Ubuntu on either has had issues or the damn thing would stop installing after 75% of the way through...i kid you not for me Ubuntu has always never worked except for one version 6.0 that was one reliable Mother Fraker. But as the Anon mentioned it was very fugly. Sometimes I think the Ubuntu has traded Eye candy for compatibility...

So this is my story, my father just got him a fucking XPS (Laptop), I can't remember what the version is. It's got Vista installed in it, and 4 fucking GB of RAM. I was so jealous, anyways, I had Vista installed before but it sucked, now I'm liking my dads laptop.. but I do not want to go back to Vista, and everything gets fucked there :/

So /OS/, yes or no?

And, is there a Sidebar for XP?

it seems that windows just throws shit together and then markets it without any consideration for the customer anymore... XP is a good OS but I Prefer Linux but I don't use it that much being that some programs and drivers are a bitch to find and there are no major gaming companies that have signed on with them yet....I like gaming and XP offers the best in that area for me...thats my two cents atleast

Exactly. It's like all the developers at Microsoft have no contact with each other. They're all given a list of things to do, and they all do it without communicating with one another, so the whole system is a mess.

And the registry system is TERRIBLE. It's such a shitty, outdated idea.

I only use windows for gaming, personally. The rest of the time, it's linux.

This is a pretty important security issue that I think you guys should be aware of. Today on The Chan Top List, I noticed a thread about a file called "PIFTS.exe", which is apparently a new 'feature' by Norton that sends information about what you do to several places, including Google, Microsoft, a server in Africa, and... oh yeah, some government server in D.C..

Obviously filtering through the LOL SO RANDOMs will give you better information about the file.

If you have Norton's installed (lol dumbass), I would recommend checking to see if you have that somewhere on your machine.
